The Fine Arts Society, London is projected across the stage. Images of gallery exhibitions follow. The music gives way to the sound of carpenters, workmen, banging, preparation. Lights up slowly on an all white stage. A workman, in overalls and cap, his back to the audience, is putting the last piece of the distinctive styled ‘Gluck’ frame together. The frame is designed so that although bearing the characteristics of a frame, it is attached to the wall, like a molding, and painted the same colour as the wall. This blends with its background, therefore not detracting from the painting itself. As the workman departs, the room becomes bathed in white light and the painting ‘Alba’ is projected into the frame. The sounds of workmen etc. fades into the noise of an appreciative audience at an exhibition. The noise intensifies.
